Welcome to my life -uncensored-   68 comments

So that’s what lies at the end of a rainbow! Ometepe, Nicaragua

After years of funny weird shit happening I’ve finally gotten around to putting it down as a book. It’s something I have always wanted to do and now I can present “Without Wax” in the form of a blog. A novelty version called Recipes for Disaster is on the way but I will let you know more when it’s ready.

This is not a book/blog of “I’ve done this and I’ve done that”. It’s about funny moments and strange scenarios you might relate to, be in or learn from!

Special thanks to Leanne (big sis) for always being like a second Mum, my parents Hazel and Peter for their continued support –and still putting up with my shit- and to Alex Firth for telling me to stop talking about writing a book and just do it.

Your life is shaped by who you meet through the years and in turn your presence will shape the lives of others. For that reason I thank everyone I’ve ever met for who I am today but if I sit and thank each one individually it’d be a whole new book. And I’m shit with names anyway.

If you’re not in this book it’s because I didn’t like you. -Joking!-

Maybe you’ll be in the next?

    • Thank you so much Sarah!!! Thats really really amazing and I appreciate that sooo much. It might be a while before I can do anything about it though. I recieved an award from Sweta an failed misserably in trying to set it up and pass it on. I work a lot of night shift these days (just until I go to Aruba) and so its dificult for me to find the time to sit down and figure it all out, but thanks again for this. It’s really amazing and I’m so glad you like my blog. :-)

    Ivon

  15. Best line, “if you’re not in this book it’s because I didn’t like you”. Great stuff, you appeal to my evil side, and all the things I DON’T say in my blog!!
Thanks for liking my blog. All the best for 2013!

  24. Thank you and I will. I love checking out what other travelers are up to and getting ideas about where to go next. I really like your blog and I’m glad you enjoyed what you’ve read of mine so far. Thanks for the comment Gina.

  25. Great stuff here. You have some amazing stories! Thanks for following my blog; I’ll make sure you to visit yours often! -Katrina

  26. Thankyou Katrina :-) I’m really happy that you like my blog. I know that some of my rants or subject matter might not appeal to everyone but I hope that you will continue to read and enjoy my stories. I’m going to the Caribbean for 6 months to work with donkeys very soon so hopefully I will find more interesting moments to write about. I also found your blog and am enjoying it a lot. I see that you are living in my city (Edinburgh). Hope you are happy here. We get that nice break in the weather for about a week near Easter. I want to check out more of your blog but I have to get ready for work. :-( but I will check it out more afterwards.
Have you been to the castle, ghost tours, bottanics, gardens? I love having friends over to show them around. It’s often the case where you just take your own city for granted and forget to explore it. I had a friend over from Sweden recently but I made her ill by feeding her a deep-fried mars bar. I don’t recommend it…anymore!
2 more weeks of night shift then I finish up then 2 weeks getting ready and chilling out before my adventures!! WOOOOHOOOO!
    Counting down the days!

  27. I like that you found dragonshades and decided that it was a crazy enough blog for you to follow. At least it shows that you’re not colour prejudiced. Cheers.

  28. Nice one….thanks for liking my blog :)

  29. Your welcome. Thankyou for your views and comments. I hope you enjoy mine as much as I enjoy yours. :-)

    • Thats brilliant! I always think that life should be full of adventures and jobs are just an inbetween thing to get you the money for more crazy adventures. Hawaii sounds amazing and I will checkout your photos. Hope you are enjoying every minute and you might have me convinced to add Hawaii to my word tour. :-)

  31. Thanks so much for visiting my blog! Love adventures and also trying to write the book!

  32. Hope Aruba is treating you well…don’t do anything I wouldn’t do :P (of course, that means the possibilities are endless, amirite?)

I wanted to stop by and let you know I nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. The post is up on my page with instructions if you’re interested…and there’s no pressure, of course, but this is just my way of letting you know I love your posts and whatnot :)

    Cheers,
    Sarah

    • Thankyou Sarah! Thankyou so much for that :-)
It has really made my day that you have thought of me for this.
I hope my future posts will entertain you and I am really glad that you enjoy my blog.

I nominate you to be my geek anytime! :-)

Thanks again Sarah, I really appreciate it.

      • Well, I do make an awesome geek :P

      • I’ll believe it when I see you in glasses and a big wooly jumper! :-)
In the comments after my Only in Panama, Rebel Lips sent me a link with photos of her dressed exactly as I had described in my post!
        MASSIVE wooly jumper!!! :-)
        Soo..Norway it is then :-)
You can come to the wedding..The one that takes place in my dreams!

      • Much as I would love to oblige, alas I do not own a wooly jumper (though I do wear glasses). I do, however, own a few Lord of the Rings costumes and swords.

      • Hahahah! A few costumes? Thats great!
I can see you as an Elf Princess..with glasses :-)
And the sword..That makes up for having no wooly jumper!!
I dont own any Lord of the Rings costumes, but I do have a penguin costume..and a pink tutu, but I can explain!!

  33. I am flabberghasted, and quite pleased, to have you following Shadows. Thanks ever so much! I have only spent a moment here at your blog, but there is something there that gives me the impression you are a Brit….

    • Scottish :-)
Proud to be Scottish but never happy to be in Scotland.
      I call it Shitland!
You are a great writer and I’m happy to be one of your followers!
Hope you enjoy what you’ve read on my blog.

      Thanks Debbie

  35. Thanks for visiting and following my blog “Eyes to Heart.” … I like your comment about all the people in our lives to this point shaping who we are. For good or ill it is certainly true. How we handle their effect is also a big part of the story. ;-) … Be well and continued success to you on your journey … Dorothy :-)

  36. AnElephantCant think of anything clever to say
    This happens time after time
But he wants you to know
That he likes you and so
He says hello with this silly rhyme

  37. Thank you for the follow :) Good luck in turning this blog into a book!

    • Thankyou,
some of my more recent posts don’t quite fit (like the one about French hippos) but with the others that I do want to use..Well, I’ll get there eventually! Just want something I can hold and say “I’ve done this. This is my life”!

  38. Hey Thank You for that follow…Your site is just the way I like it, from now on you shall have one more avid reader of yours….And, lastly, I hope I can come with stuff to engage you at least for a couple of seconds on my site…
